Shrimp and Kraut

Surf and Turf, kinda! This quick and easy healthy shrimp and sauerkraut recipe combines probiotics and healthy fats. It's simple to make for even the busiest Fatworker.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 pound shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon Fatworks Tallow or other fat
  • 5 ounces sauerkraut
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Cooking time: 5 minutes
Total time: 20 minutes

Fat: Duck Fat, Leaf Lard, Pure Lard, Schmaltz (Chicken Fat)

DIRECTIONS

STEP 1

Peel and devein shrimp and rinse in cold water.

STEP 2

Melt Tallow, Lard, Duck Fat or Schmaltz on medium-high heat in a cast iron skillet or stainless steel pan.  

STEP 3

Add shrimp and sauté about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes per side of shrimp, cooking for approximately 5 minutes until they are bright pink.  

STEP 4

Season with salt and pepper and transfer to serving dish.  

STEP 5

Top with sauerkraut and serve immediately.
